I have 1tb hdd but I want to install ssd to my hp 15 ay542-tu laptop. Are there 2 slots (1 for hdd and 1 for sdd) in laptop?.  

Please also provide a link from where I can buy ssd because most of the sites are not delivering in india.

Hi:

 

Notebooks in that model series that came with 2.5" hard drives do not have a M.2 slot.

 

There is an additional part needed to add the M.2 slot to your notebook. 

 

You can see chapter 3 of the service manual for the additional part needed.

(13) Solid-state drive board    850946-001

 

There are probably other parts needed not listed in the service manual such as the screw that you must need to secure the solid state drive board to the motherboard.

 

I recommend that if you want to upgrade to a SSD, remove the 2.5" mechanical hard drive and replace it with a 2.5" SSD.
