I have a Pavillion KF8F0A69 Laptop, 15-cc060wm, HP 8364 46.24 motherboard, 16gb DRAM with a 1Tb HDD 5400 rpm drive. Can I install a 1tb SSD in place of the HHD? Is the fact that I would have to use the SATA with the new SSD actually not use the full speed capability of the SSD? Is there a kit to accomplish this upgrade? Recommendations?

Hi:
Can you please elaborate on what you want to do?
You can directly replace the 1 TB 2.5" mechanical hard drive your notebook has, with a 2.5" 1 TB SSD.
To me, there would be no advantage of removing the 1 TB hard drive and replacing it with a M.2 SSD, because your notebook's M.2 slot only supports SATA SSD's, not the higher performing NVMe ones.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
Chapter 1 shows the supported drive configurations.

Here is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook which has both compatible 2.5" SSD's and M.2 SSD's.
