HP Envy x360 cn0114nb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently bought an HP Envy x360 cn0114nb and I saw in the specs that Power Delivery through USB-C is supported. Does that mean that I can charge my device through my USB-C port? And if I can, there are a lot of different kinds of USB-C chargers out there so which one do I buy?

Thanks in advance!

Frankly the industry has entirely dropped the ball on this USB-C thing. Your USB-C port is described in the official specs as Power Delivery and Sleep and Charge. These things sound like you can use a USB-C charger to run the laptop and charge the battery. However, here is what the Service manual says about the port:

(4) USB Type-C port with HP Sleep and Charge Connects a USB device that has a Type-C connector, provides data transfer, and even when the computer is off, charges most products such as a cell phone, camera, activity tracker, or smartwatch. – and – Connects a display device that has a USB Type-C connector, providing DisplayPort output. NOTE: Cables and/or adapters (purchased separately) may be required

So in general and without exception that I have seen so far, if the laptop can be charged using the USB-C port then HP delivers a USB-C charger with the laptop. If the laptop comes with an old-school barrel type adapter it cannot be charged via USB-C. Some business models have adapters that use both ports at the same time but yours is not that kind of laptop.

Only wish it could have been happier news. You might consider accepting my answer as solution to make this thread easier to locate from a search engine as there is a strong likelihood others want to know the same thing.
