HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP 17.3 inch laptop Model 17-cn0097nr, Product 40K42UA, and would like to use the USB Type C port marked "SS" and to connect a hub/dock which would be connected to several USB devices (HDMI monitor, RJ-45 ethernet cable, 2 USB Type A printers, 2 USB Type A cameras, 2 USB Type C external hard drives, and a USB Type C cell phone).  A suitable hub/dock is available for me to purchase and I don't have a concern about using it for the USB Type A and Type C connections, but I do not know if the Type C port on my laptop is capable of transmitting data for an HDMI display or for a wired ethernet connection.  My laptop was purchased directly from HP in October 2021.  The laptop spec for cn0097nr shows that it has1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate; 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 HDMI 1.4b; 1 AC smart pin; and 1 headphone/microphone combo.  The USB Type C port, is marked "SS (USB symbol)" so I suspect the spec is right about the capability, but I don't know for sure that I have what the spec says I have, because the spec also says I have a single SSD but the unit came from HP with dual hard drives.  Bottom line for me is that I don't know whether or not my USB Type C port will be able to move monitor and ethernet signals back and forth.  Looking for opinions from more experienced HP users and professionals.  Thanks.

Its specs

              https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c07802868

It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

   Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,

Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                        USB to HDMI Adapter

For more connectivity, please use

                 True Universal Docking Stations

Regards.
