G7 250
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I've bought a HP G7 250 laptop with an i3 7020u, 4 GB RAM, and 500 GB HDD.

Can I add a M.2 SSD whilst keeping the HDD (Running both the HDD and the SSD at the same time)??

I'm asking because you can't do it in the G6. Is it the same for the G7?

Thanks!

I believe the 250 G6 did not offer dual storage option but the G7 does for machines with Intel Core processor (i3/i5/i7). Your machine with Single storage HDD option therefore you would need the following parts to be able to add M.2 SSD to your machine

  • Solid-state drive bracket part # L20458-001
  • Solid-state drive connector board part # L22542-001
  • Solid-state drive cable part # L20456-001

Parts with prefix "L" are new and very hard to find. Please contact  HP Authorized Service Provider parts in your country for help.

Regards.

I have the same problem. From website( www.notebooksbilliger.de) on black weekend between Lenovo and HP, I choosed Notebook HP 250 G7 because of good reputation of the company and just because it was indicated that Notebook has SATA support(as included SATA options). Then when I received Notebook I additionally bought HDD Sata 1Tb and wanted to install on my notebook. When I found that Notebook has no interface connection for HDD and no special box I was very disappointed with it.  If I had know  about such problem I would never buy it, because it was better for me to buy LENOVO because it was cheaper on 100 Euro with the same parameters(CPU i5, RAM 8Gb, SSD 256Gb). I ask HP company to send me this components of SATA interface as it was advertised on the seller website. Otherwise I will never return to such company which has such problems with elementary things. I am waiting answer from HP representatives.
