HP Pavilion Power - 15t-cb000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I currently have 8GB Samsung 2400MHz installed in my HP Pavilion Power - 15t-cb000 CTO laptop.

I have three questions

1. Can I install a 16gb DDR 4 along with my 8GB Samsung 2400MHZ. Do I need to take care of anything to ensure there is no conflict?

2. Do I need to install a 2400MHZ ram only? Can it be 2666MHZ too?

3. If I am to install only 16gb RAM can I install anyone of these?a https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct16g4sfd8266 b https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct16g4sfd824a

Thanks in Advance.

Just to add onto the question... The following is mentioned in HP's Laptop Guides for my Laptop for MEMORY:

1. Two non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots

2. DDR4-2400 dual channel support

3. Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:

  •   16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)
  • 12288-MB total system memory (8192×1) + (4096×1)
  • 8192-MB total system memory (8192×1) or (4096×2)
  • 6144-MB total system memory (4096×1) + (2048×1)
  • 4096-MB total system memory (4096×1)

No. Don't install a 16 GB module in addition to the installed 8 GB module.  That would likely cause problems You will need to either remove the 8 GB memory module and run the single 16 GB module or remove it and install a pair of 8 GB modules. Make sure that the new modules are guaranteed to be compatible with your notebook.

2. Do I need to install a 2400MHZ ram only? Can it be 2666MHZ too? if you install 2666 MHz it will run at 2400 Mhz

Here is a link that shows the memory modules made by Crucial that are guaranteed  to be compatible with your notebook.

Crucial memory guarantees that 32 GB will work.

They have tested it and have their corporate reputation on the line.

Crucial's memory diagnostic says 8gb ddr4 2400MHZ would work. Where does Crucial say that 32Gb would work for HP Pavilion Power - 15t-cb000 CTO

My apologies. You are correct. 16 GB indeed.

Unfortunately, this can happen when working on many threads.  Perfect I am not.
