My laptop HP 15s du 2036tx Hard drive got corrupted withing 2 years, so i had to install 500 gb ssd in my laptop by some local shop but they forgot to remove the faulty HDD, and now i am running out of storage and want to install another 500gb sata ssd in place of the hdd but i am not sure how can i do that since i have never opened my laptop and i can't go to the shop cuz its very far away from my place, is there a specific guide for my laptop?

the hdd which is currentky installed is - ST1000LM035-1RK172

Yes, the Crucial BX500 500GB is compatible with your HP Laptop - 15s-Du2036tx (191F2PA).

 

Here is a helpful YouTube instructional video how to remove/replace your old drive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfmboT_lmZc.

 

Follow the video, remove the battery as shown, then skip to timestamp 4:03 how to remove/replace your HDD/SSD.

 

Then reinstall your laptop battery and put your laptop back together.

 

Then power on your laptop and follow this YouTube video starting at timestamp 4:00 to guide you through activating your new drive: How to Install & Activate a Second Drive on a Windows 11 PC - YouTube. The steps for activating a new drive on a laptop are the same as for a PC.
