As I understand, you wish to add SSD,

I'd like to thank you for the detailed description of your concern, as you have ensured I don't have to ask any more questions, that said, 

 

You could use the M.2 slot to install SSD without removing a hard drive. SSD cannot be installed on a RAM slot.

 

Given below is the SSD which is tested on your notebook: 

256 GB solid-state drive (SSD), M.2, TLC 837768-001 (Part Number)
