Product: HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 (4U8D7AV)
Operating System: Ubuntu LTS

I have 2x8gb sticks on my laptop. Can I upgrade it to 2x16gb? dmidecode linux command shows me that max capacity is 16gb but crucial advicer tool says that I can upgrade up to 64gb. Where is the truth?

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 2 x 8 GB.

I don't know why 2 x 16 GB of memory wouldn't work though.

 

The Crucial memory report is usually very accurate.
