Spectre x360 Convertible 15-bl0XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

So, I have a Spectre x360 Convertible 15-bl0XX and was wondering if it's compatible with an Intel i9-9900K CPU. Anyone know this for sure?

My guess is no, cause I did search for the specification for 15-bl0XX, and in the user manual I only see processors i7-7500U and i7-8550U. But I'm surprised to see this motherboard would only be compatible with two CPUs, so I'm guessing I'm wrong and I'm not understanding the user manual in the first place.

Anyway, I want to be sure before I give up on this machine. Cause it still works great, just doesn't have the computing power I need.

Thanks in advance!

Hi:

Ever since the Intel 5th gen core processors came out, the processors are all integrated into the motherboard.

They cannot be removed or upgraded.

The only way to upgrade the processor would be to replace the motherboard with one listed in your notebook's service manual (chapter 3) that may come with a better processor.

The costs attendant to such a project would come close to what you paid for the notebook, assuming you could even find the motherboard you wanted.
