Hi,
Yes, you can use faster HDD (7200RPM) big cache (32Mb or more).
Regards.

Hi there 🙂
As benhien explained you can freely upgrade your HDD with a faster one for better performance. You can either get a better performing HDD (such as the WD Black ), a hybrid drive such as WD Blue SSHD so it can cache your most frequently used applications for better performance, or opt for a pure SSD for much increased responsiveness and loading times. It really depends on what you are doing with your laptop and your budget.
You mentioned that you need to recover data from a problematic drive. Could you elaborate more in that? What signs of failure does the drive show? IS the laptop still under warranty? Are there any abnormal sounds?

The blue screen that you observed probably contained an error code. It is called a BSOD or a Blue Screen Of Death. It shows you the exact reason for the computer crash with the particular error code. Mind that in such cases it is useful for troubleshooting purposes to remember or write down that code.
Not finding a boot drive indicates that either the drive in the laptop or the connection got damaged. If the drive is not under warranty you may try to get the drive out of the laptop and connect it to a working desktop or to another laptop either internally or externally as a secondary drive and see if it's detected in the BIOS, Device Manager or Disk Management. You can also try checking your BIOS on the laptop if the drive is detected at all. This way you may be able to narrow things down to either the drive or to the laptop.
