I would like to change/replace my old 5400 RPM HDD to 7200 RPM HDD due to the old HDD drive full.

i run my OS & the programs in MY SSD drive.

if i change the HDD would it give me any issues to the laptop ?

(ST1000LM035-1RK172) This is the HDD i m currently using as my storage device and this is the drive i wanted to change/replace.

Hi:

You should be fine with that.

Have you considered replacing the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD?

The SSD will perform better, run cooler and use less battery power than a mechanical hard drive will.

The only downside is that a 1 TB SSD will cost about double what a 1 TB 7,200 RPM drive would cost.
