Hello.

Help me please.

I have an old laptop model: hp 4720s probook (2010 year of release)

HDD Broke. I would like to replace it with SSD.

The specification for this model says that it uses HDD SMART SATA II Hard Drive

I want to know if I can connect at least some SSD to this laptop?

Hi:

This would be a low cost replacement that provides the best performance for the price.

https://www.amazon.com/Blue-NAND-500GB-SSD-WDS500G2B0A/dp/B073SBZ8YH/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&hvadid=7785...

If you can't get that one, get this one...has the same performance as the one above.

Both drives are SATA III but backward compatible to SATA II.

A SSD will make a big difference in performance.

Hi:

Yes, you should be able to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

What storage size were you interested in purchasing?

I will give you a recommendation.

HDD that has broken has a total volume of 500 mb
As I understand it, a similar SSD in volume is 480 GB

Excellent!

I was really worried about backward compatibility between SATA II and SATA III

What do you say about this model?

That would be fine too.

Not quite as fast and less warranty, but still very good.

Or you also get this budget priced model.  I just bought a 120 GB model to put in an old HP 6910p notebook that had a slow-poke 80 GB mechanical hard drive.

This one is also backward compatible to SATA II.  My 6910p has the Mobile Intel 965 chipset and T7500 processor.

So not only did the drive make it faster, it actually increased the storage capacity by 40 GB.  😊
