My laptop's product ID: 8A548EA#BH5
I use HP 255 15.6 G10 laptop with TN display. Can I replace the display with IPS? Also it would be great if you can identify whether its 30-pin or 40-pin.
Additional question if its possible: Can replace with display that has higher refresh rate than 60Hz

The service manual (on pages 19-20) shows supported display panels for 255 G10 models.
Panel # N41935-001 provides an UWVA (Ultra-Wide Viewing Angle) feature. UWVA = IPS. This listing of the panel indicates that it is an IPS screen with a 30-pin connector and 60Hz refresh rate.
Screen for HP N41935-001. Replacement Laptop LCD Screens
Page 20 of the manual shows only one display cable (#N36087-001), which is what your model uses, so apparently you can use the current 30-pin cable for a new IPS panel.
Below is the parts list for your model that shows the part numbers of the display panel and display cable.
