My CPU overheated and I want to see if I can replace it with a CPU that works.

What is your HP Pavilion x360. We can replace Processor/CPU on nearly all HP consumer laptops now because CPU is included on the system board. You have to replace the whole system board which contains

 

   (a) Motherboard,

   (b) CPU with integrated video,

   (c) Dedicated Video card (if applicable),

   (d) Operating system (you can't reuse old license).


All above 3 or 4 components are on one piece of hardware called System board
