Can I replace the 7mm thick hdd with a new 15mm HHD in my HP omen 17-an018a?

I want to change the existing 7mm thick HHD with a 3TB drive but any drive above 2TB appears to be 15mm. Will this fit into my computer. I don't want an SSD due to costs and speed is not crucial as this will be a data drive.

Hi,

9.5mm is the max, so most likely it will not fit. Maybe if you do away with the rubber sleeve and use some strong double sided tape it could fit, but I would not be sure of that.

You could create a small 15mm wide box and check if it gets crushed when you try to install it.

But 9.5mm is the max without any modifications.

Only have possibility of install second drive (HDD) of 7mm. and 9mm and máximum of 2TB … 

Too, without second HDD, in Dual Storage, as indicate in the image ...

The recognized brand's of HDD are ... Seagate, Maxtor, Western Digital (WD), Hitachi, Samsung.

If decided install in Dual Storage any SSD, the recognized brand's are ... ADATA, Sandisk, Western Digital (WD), Corsair, SKhynix, Crucial (bt Micron), Kingston, Samsung.

Thanks guys for the quick responses.

I already have the 512gb SSD and 1TB HHD installed but wanted to increase the HHD capacity. Seem that 2TB is the max I can achieve if I replace the HHD.
