OMEN by HP 15-ax200nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've recently acquired a gaming laptop; an OMEN 15-ax200nl to be more specific. I've noticed upon inspecting it that it allows for easy access to the battery, motherboard, and graphics card. This makes sense as some owners might want to upgrade the RAM.

I thought the laptop could be user-serviceable. Upon research, the graphics card it comes with is readily available for replacement, but that can't be said for the rest of its components, apparently...

Using wizardry I found out the OMEN's motherboard is an HP model 8259; where can I find/buy a replacement board?
Also, what if my battery goes kaputt? Where can I buy a replacement battery? I don't want to buy a new laptop for nearly a thousand dollars just because its battery's dead while the rest of it is just fine.

I live in Honduras, meaning there are no HP or Microsoft kiosks. I can, however, order parts online, but I can't afford sending my product to HP (for which I have to pay shipping obviously) and then receiving another product (for which I have to pay shipping, again).

Also, gaming desktops are out of the question, for I really have no space for one.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you want to know if you can service your gaming laptop,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you know HP provides a 1yr factory warranty for hardware repair & replacements that cover all charges?

If you don't want to ship the computer over to HP, they have options to send out certain parts that you can replace on your own, however, graphics card on your laptop isn't one of them, the parts that are replaceable are usually the simple ones such as Hard drive, SSD, etc...

That said, you can also look for parts online if your pc is not within the warranty down the lane after a year: Click here to visit the HP Parts Surfer to identify the universal part numbers and order them either on the HP Parts Store or any local store for that matter.

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Thank you for your reply.

As you might have read in my original post, I *already* know where to get the graphics card. What I did not know was where could I buy the rest of my laptop's parts, should them be replaced.

I've seen a picture in the internet of a disassembled HP OMEN, but it wasn't the same model as mine; however, I noticed that its parts had some HP labels on them.

For instance, on the motherboard the label was a nine-digit number, 914770-601, which led to this website:

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1251703/Hp-Pavilion-15-Bc200.html?page=61

This OMEN model has an Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 4GB GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and 16GB of RAM, so I figured its part number could be 914772-601.

The question is: Where do I buy this?

Thank you.

@LaserDog

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

As I've mentioned previously, considering it's a universal part number, the parts can be ordered either from the HP Parts Store or any local store,

And yes, the numbers you've mentioned are what's known as HP Part numbers.

I hope that answers your question,

Thanks for reassuring me. Sorry for sounding a bit rude, it's just I was stressed out over something else. ^_^
EDIT: Sorry for not reading your answer completely. I'm stupid.
