Hi,

I've  inherited a laptop, but need to decide whether to sell it and put the money towards getting a more powerful machine or to upgrade it instead. 

Laptop currently has i3 processor and I'm wondering whether it'll be possible to upgrade it to an i5 or i7?  If it is possible, I'll also upgrade the 4 MB of RAM. What are the best options for that?

Looks like you can upgrade to the Intel® Dual Core® i5-3230M .

 

Your notebook supports 2 x 4 GB of memory.

 

This would be the 4 GB memory chip you would want to install...
