That was going to be the next thing I suggested. A bad card will prevent bootup. So will an incompatible one although there is no reason in principle you can't use that card. HP offered an AC9xxx as an option but no reason that would work and not your AC8xxx.

Do you get some kind of error message when trying to start with the new wireless card in place? Did you uninstall the AC 3168 and its driver before trying the upgrade?

Thanks sir! Do I have to uninstall its driver before trying the upgrade? I did not do it and my computer started but the screen remained blank.

What happens now if you remove the new card?

When I insert a new card (AC 8265) into the computer, the computer cannot boot even though the power LED is on. But when I removed the new card, inserted the old card (AC 3168), the computer worked normally. What should I do?

Thank you for reading.

Uninstall the old card from device manager and do an advanced uninstall, removing the driver. Then put the new card in and see if it will boot up.

I followed you but the computer still could not boot. Excuse me, does my computer have a so-called whitelist or list of hardware rules to work with?

Thanks for your help. My computer is HP Pavilion 15 cs0018TU.

New card wireless, what I want to use.

If it had a whitelist you would get an error message on the screen saying "unsupported wifi adapter installed". You are not getting that, right?

HP Recommended

Yes. I do not see it. My computer cannot boot up when a new card is inserted. Is there a problem with this new card (AC 8265)? For example it was damaged.

Thanks for your help!
