Hello,

Im going to buy a HP 255 G7 6BP88ES (that exact model I could not find on the site)

This model goes with 1tb hdd and I would like to add 256 ssd m.2 drive?

Is there a free slot for an m.2 drive? And is it sata or nvme?

HP 255 G7 M.2 SSD models has no 2.5 HDD interface( There is the space for HDD,but subboard and cables are omitted)

also  

HP 255 G7 2.5 HDD models has no M.2 slot.

I recently purchased one of these and Akitake is correct.  I wish I had read this sooner.  I learned this the hard way, if it doesn't have an M.2 drive to begin with, HP will in fact not mount the interface.  There is room for the interface on the board itself but they do not attach one.  As such, you cannot install an M.2 drive if it didn't have one already.  I'm quite disappointed in this especially since the board has room for it.  Seems like they could have just mounted the interface anyway, but alas they do not.  Take a look at the attachment.  You can clearly see the place where such a drive could be installed but there isn't an interface attached to the motherboard.  They even omitted the second dimm interface on the ram just above it.  HP255G7_WithoutInterfaceInstalled.jpg
