HP Laptop 15-da0021ds
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I'm Nyis. My product name is HP Laptop da0021ds, my product number is 1X0K0UA. I installed Windows 11 on my laptop last Sunday. I want to upgrade my CPU and RAM. Is it possible to upgrade my CPU and RAM or no? If so what is the best RAM and CPU upgrade I can make?

Hi,  Nyis:

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade your notebook's processor since your notebook's processor is an integral part of the motherboard.

Memory upgrade:

Chapter 1, page 2 of the service manual indicates that notebooks with the Intel Celeron and Pentium processors only have one memory slot and the max memory the slot can support is 1 x 8 GB.

However, I don't even see your notebook's Intel® Pentium® Gold 5405U processor listed in the manual.

It is quite possible that your notebook having that processor may have two memory slots in which case you can add another 8 GB memory chip in the empty slot.

I recommend you open up the notebook and see how many slots there are before buying memory for it.

The Intel specs on the processor indicate that it can support up to 64 GB of memory, but I doubt that your notebook could support 2 x 32 GB of memory.

Once you check to see how many memory slots your notebook has, you can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
