I would like to upgrade my 380GB 7200 RPM SATA drive to an SSD.  I am thinking of WD Blue 500GB.

The AHCI driver is currently loaded and operating.

Also, can I upgrade memory larger than 8 GB?

Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions.

Yes.

You can upgrade the notebook to a 2.5" SATA3 form factor SSD.  The WD Blue 500GB you asked about will do just fine.

The maximum installed memory is still 8 GB. 16 GB is unlikely to be compatible with your system in accordance with the Maintenence & service guide.  Crucial memory also states that it is an 8 GB maximum memory system.

Thank you so much.  I hoped this was the answer re: the SSD.
