Hello. I want to upgrade my HP laptop to 32GB RAM and wanted to know if my system can support 32GB.
In doing research, I found out that HP laptops that support DDR4 came support 32GB regardless of HP saying it can support only 16GB max.
My laptop is a HP Pavilion 15-cd0xx gaming laptop. According to the HP manual, I can only max up to 16GB. However my model supports DDR4 Ram so it possible to max it up to 32GB even though the manual says 16GB?

Hi:
If you want to see if 32 GB will work, do the following...
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator. This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacity and hit enter. There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your notebook's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
