Hello,
I have a HP Laptop - Pavilion 14 - see device on my profile.
Can someone please help me to understand if it is possible to upgrade the RAM. From what I understand it currently has 8GB, however, it is running almost at capacity now as I am using large data app simultaneously, and I can see the laptop slows down and the fan runs quite noisily sometimes. When I look at the performance it shows the working memory is up to 97%.
Is it possible to upgrade my RAM on this model? If so, is this something I could do myself - (with no experience) or should I get someone to do this for me? Any recommendations of how much this is likely to sot of possible?
Thank you so much in advance.

Hi:
HP only has the service manual for the previous generation 14-ce2xxx model series available, but the amount of memory you can install has not changed.
According to chapter 1 of the manual, the notebook has one memory slot and can support 1 x 16 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz memory.
This should be a compatible memory chip for your notebook:
Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA32A | Crucial UK
Chapter 4 has the list of tools required to open up the notebook and chapter 5 has the memory removal and replacement procedure.
You can have a look at the manual and see if it is something you want to tackle yourself.
I would say if you have no experience doing something like this, it would be a moderately difficult project to undertake.
Bring the notebook to your local PC repair shop and see what they will charge you to upgrade the memory.
They do this kind of thing every day, so it is probably child's play for them, and they have the right tools for the job.
