Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

HP ENVY x360 15 Convertible PC Maintenance and Service GuideIMPORTANT! This document is intended for...

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

The manual indicates that 2 x 8 GB of memory is the max.

However, the Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates that 2 x 16 GB is the max.

You can do this to see how much memory the notebook can actually support...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

If you buy the Crucial memory, do not buy the gaming memory.

Buy the standard memory with the green circuit board.

Can I use either the 2400 Mhz or the 2666Mhz?

HP Recommended

Yes, either would work fine.

If the 2666 MHz memory is less expensive, then I would go with that.

Any memory you install that is faster than 2400 MHz is going to run at 2400 MHz because that is the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.
