Hi:
Unfortunately all dual band wifi cards having the HMC form factor like your notebook's Atheros wifi card has, require two antenna wires to be connected, to get the best wifi/bluetooth performance.
You can install a dual band card, with one antenna wire but the wifi may not work perfectly and the Bluetooth may not work at all due to the lack of a second antenna wire.
If you want, you should be able upgrade to this dual band card.
Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2×2 Wi-Fi Adapter, Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter HP part # 730668-001
You should be able to find the card on eBay. Search by the HP part #, not the model of the wifi card.
Attach the wire to the card's Main terminal for best wifi reception.
You can also experiment with connecting the antenna wire to the auxiliary terminal and see if the wifi will still work, as well as the Bluetooth.
