Hi, I've been searching and found some mixed results on this so I am sorry if this has been answered before. I have a HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC, product number: E8C03UA#ABA. Its stock wifi card does not support 5ghz or anything beyond 802.11n. I realize some HP laptops have a sort of BIOS whitelist. I found this card on amazon and was wondering if any of you guys could tell me if it is compatible. If not, do you have any suggestions of something that would allow 5ghz, 802.11ac, and at least 600Mbps, or am I stuck with its stock card and a USB wifi card?

Hi:
The first thing you have to do is to open up your PC and check to make sure there are two antennas present to connect to a dual band AC card.
If there is only one, you will have to live with the status quo.
If there are two, you are in luck, and you can install this dual band AC card with bluetooth...
Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo | HP Part # 724935-001 |
You cannot install an Intel wlan card in your model because it has AMD hardware.
Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the card.
This card should be readily available on Amazon or eBay.
See chapter 5 of the service manual for the wifi card R & R procedures.

If your notebook has two antennas and you can upgrade the card, make sure you uninstall the old wifi card and drivers in the device manager before installing the new wifi card.
If you determine that you can upgrade the card, let me know and I will post the links to the W10 wifi and BT drivers you need for the above model wifi card.
