Was wondering if I could upgrade my intel i3 pavilion 17 e112dx to an intel i5 660 with a 1156 chip set  has windows 10 pro 64 bit and latest bios.

As I understand you need assistance with upgrading the processor on your device,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution: 

Did you know HP doesn't support or recommend upgrade of the processor?

 

That said, if you need information on parts tested and approved by HP to make it easier for you, in case you want to go through with the idea either way:

 

4th Generation Intel Core

● Intel® Core® i7-4702MQ 2.20 GHz processor (SC turbo up to 2.90 GHz; 1600 MHz FSB, 6.0 MB L3 cache, quad core, 37 W)

● Intel Core i5-4200M 2.5 GHz processor (SC turbo up to 3.10 GHz; 1600 MHz FSB, 3.0 MB L3 cache,

dual core, 37 W)

● Intel Core i3-4000M 2.40 GHz processor (1600 MHz FSB, 3.0 MB L3 cache, dual core, 37 W)

● Intel Pentium® 3550M 2.40 GHz processor (1600 MHz FSB, 2.0 MB L3 cache, dual core, 37 W)
