I have an HP g7 with an Intel, Core i3, 390M and 8GB of RAM installed.
I have bought two i7 processors - 740 and 840 but neither one works.
Can anybody help me and tell me what proccessors actualy works on this notebook?

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook's model series.

You can only install an Intel 1st gen dual core processor in your notebook and it appears from the list of supported processor, the best you can do would be the i5-480M.
The reason the i7-740QM and i7-840QM processors didn't work is they require a discrete video adapter, and yours only has the onboard Intel HD graphics, which only works with the dual core processors.
