I would like to upgrade the DVD player in my HP Envy 17t-n100 to Bluray myself. Is it possible?
I'm also still under warranty. Would this upgrade afffect my warranty coverage? Or can I get the work done with an authorized repair place?

HP offered a Blu-Ray disk drive in that model series:
Optical Drive Blu-ray Disc R/RW with SuperMulti 813785-001
HP asks an insane price for it:
Much cheaper on eBay:
See pages 28-29 of the manual here:
It is super easy and is authorized for an end user. Flip it over, remove one screw, slide out the old drive and slide in the new then put the screw back in. You WILL need software to pay Blu-Ray movies. VLC can be configured to play Blu-Rays for free, but most people buy a paid media player suite to play them. HP offers a media player as a download for your model here:

Not sure it plays Blu-Rays but worth a try.
