HP Pavilion 15-eh1503sa

Hello there! I hope you all are doing great.

I was wondering if would be possible to update to 32GB the HP Pavilion 15-eh1503sa’ RAM.

It has a AMD Ryzen 5 5500U Processor.

thanks so much!

Hi:

I hope you are doing fine too.

I can't find a relevant service manual for your notebook's model series.

Your notebook should be able to support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

This should be a compatible 16 GB memory chip for your notebook:

Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA32A | Crucial UK

Hey Paul, thanks so much for your reply.

Yep, I couldn’t find any help for this model on the Crucial Compatibility website as well.

I didn’t buy the laptop yet, it’s a Currys offer and I wanted to be sure I’ll be able to upgrade the RAM before to buy it, indeed.

I assume therefore the eh0000 series support 32GB RAM; is it correct?

Many thanks again

You're very welcome.

Yes, you will be able to install 2 x 16 GB of memory in your notebook.

I only gave you the video as a guide for taking the notebook apart.

The Crucial memory report actually indicates that you can install up to 2 x 32 GB of memory in the 15-eh1xxx model series, but I always recommend that you run the Windows command prompt to confirm how much memory your notebook can support.

Fantastic, Paul. I’ll do it at the store if they allow me and I’ll write the result back.

Thanks so much!
