Hello,  I want to upgrade my older HP dv7t-2000 Laptop RAM.  Any info on the max and type would be appreciated.  I do know that the HP website shows 8GB Max but I was hoping it could be more.   Thanks for any info.

Hi:

Not unless the notebook has an intel 1st generation quad core processor.

You also need to be very particular regarding the memory you install:

It cannot be any faster than PC3-10600 (1333 MHz), it should be 1.5V. It should be dual rank, with 8 little black memory chips on each side of the circuit board, not 4.

Thanks for the reply.   MIne has a Core2duo processor. So I guess I will have to stick with the 8GB allowed amount.  Thanks again for the reply its much appreciated.
