HP Notebook - 15-be016tu

Hi All,

I want to upgrade my laptop RAM from 4 GB to 12 GB. Currently I have one 4 GB DDR4 2400 MHZ RAM installed in my laptop. Can I buy a DDR4 2666 MHZ RAM and use with existing one. My laptop model is HP 15-BE016TU.

It would be better installing two identical and guaranteed compatible 4 GB memory modules.

That would work the first time.

Any time an HP laptop has 12 GB installed from the factory, it is because HP tested the configuration in a lab.

If we as consumers, try that on our own we are likely to fail and that is why I made the first statement in this post.

"Can I buy a DDR4 2666 MHZ RAM and use with existing one."  I would only do that by installing a  soDIMM module absolutely identical to the original one or by installing two guaranteed compatible memory modules.

Crucial memory is a good online source for guaranteed compatible memory modules.
