Sir,
I have two Compaq laptop one is Compaq 621 and another one is Compaq C795VU. Unfortunately my Compaq 621 is dead and my another laptop "AC adapter" is not working.
So, Can I use Compaq 621 laptop AC Adapter in my Compaq C795 ?
I checked that both the AC Adapter pin is same and working but I seen that there input and output different. Here are the both adapter specification -
(1) Compaq621 AC Adapter-
INPUT
100-240V ~ 1.5A(1.5A) 50-60Hz
OUTPUT
19V = 4.74A(4.74A) 90W MAX.
(2) Compaq Presario C795VU (FF411PA) AC Adapter-
INPUT
100-240V ~ 1.6A(1.6A) 50-60Hz
OUTPUT
18.5V(18.5V) = 3.5A(3.5A) 65W
EFFICIENCY LEVEL: IV.
THANKS.

Hi Neeraj,
if we look on page 88 of service manual of your PC we see:
Operating voltage 18.5 V dc —19.0 V dc
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01301275
so the voltage is not going to be a problem.
Now the computer will only use the Watt necessary for operastion. So you could even use a 200W power supply with your PC and the PC will still only use less than 65W. The problem is when you use a lower Wattage adapter on a computer which needs higher Wattage. So if we use a 45W adapter on a 90W system, there is risk of overheating (usually the power supply).
So you can use the 90W adapter without any problems on your PC.
Hope it helps,
David

Firstly I said thanks for reply.
Actually I confused because of that I googled . Some of site / blogger wrote that u can use and some you cannot.
One of my computer science engineered friend told that its can damage your motherboard during summer time (India) because of excess heat generated inside. That's why I asked you whether I use or not.
My original adapter 65W(18.5V) and now this is 90W(19V) which is 25W(0.5V) more than my original adapter.
Thanks.
Regards
Neeraj
