Hello,
- I am really confused about this. Different people are giving different answer.
Please Clarify.
- I have a preinstalled "4GB DDR4 2666 Mhz RAM" which came with my laptop when I purchased it. Now I plan to buy "4GB DDR4 2400 Mhz RAM".
- If I do this, Can I get a total of 8GB RAM with this upgrade ? Will 2666Mhz & 2400Mhz be compatible with each other ?
My Laptop : HP Notebook 15-bs164 TU
My Choices :
- Kingston Technology ValueRAM 4GB 2400Mhz DDR4 Non-ECC CL17 SODIMM 1Rx8 PC Memory KVR24S17S8 4
- Crucial 4GB Single DDR4 2400 MT/S (PC4-19200) SR x8 Unbuffered SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - CT4G4SFS824A

Welcome to HP Support Community
It is recommended to use Rams of the same Frequency for optimal performance. But you can still use the 4GB DDR4 2400 Mhz RAM along with the 4GB DDR4 2666 Mhz RAM and your Notebook will still work.
Hope this helps
Thank you and have a great weekend 😊
