HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk10000 Laptop PC (8VD47AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop's (15-dk1508TX (3K1B0PA)) Pavilion gaming laptop) supplied charger stopped working, it does not charge. No issue in laptop as I checked with another HP charger and it is charging all fine. Now I was wondering if 65 or 100 wat GaN chargers (like UGreen or Aukey or Belkin brand) can charge my laptop through USB-C port. I know that the USB-C port does not have a PD battery symbol; but just want to confirm that is it possible or not before I spend money on a GaN charger?

The reason I am asking, in my laptop's user guide in Chapter 12, Specification > Input power it says -

5 V dc @ 3 A / 9 V dc @ 3 A / 10 V dc @ 5 A / 12 V dc @ 5 A / 15 V dc @ 4.33 A / 20 V dc @ 3.25 A –
65 W USB-C
5 V dc @ 3 A / 9 V dc @ 3 A / 10 V dc @ 5 A / 12 V dc @ 5 A / 15 V dc @ 5 A / 20 V dc @ 4.5 A – 90 W
USB-C

Thanks.

I recommend using the Maintenance & Service guide, which contains an illustrated parts catalog

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06377664.pdf  (see pg 24 in the  miscellaneous parts section of chapter 3)

It shows that your power adapter is one of the following

200-W HP Smart AC adapter (PFC, slim, 4.5-mm) L00818-850
150-W HP Smart AC adapter (PFC, slim, 4.5-mm) L32661-001
135-W HP Smart AC adapter (PFC, RC, slim, 4.5-mm) L15534-001

Your old power adapter should have the wattage on it in ultra tiny letters.

Charging through the USB type-C port will be a maybe and probably not since the original adapters were the barrel pin type.
