Pavilion dv7
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I tried upgrading to Win 10 when it was free, but had problems with drivers that had not been written in Win 10 for the dv7. Has anything changed, or should I just stay away from Win 10 on the dv7?

Hi:

HP does not support any PC made prior to August of 2013 for W10.

Nothing has changed since you tried W10.  If anything it has gone from bad to worse as the newer W10 editions have rolled out.

If you had issues before, you are guaranteed to have the same issues and more now.

The only dv7 notebooks that have any chance of working decently on W10 are the dv7-7xxx models with the Intel chipsets, processors and Intel or Nvidia graphics, or the older models only with the Intel graphics.

Thanks for your reply. I was afraid of that. I'll limp along on Win 7 and plan for a new laptop in a few months.
