Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I changed the battery but whenever I unplug the charger it shutdowns so I think is the CMOS battery. What’s the CMOS battery for HP envy 17 ae1xx

Most notebooks with internal batteries including yours, do not have a CMOS/RTC battery.

 

The main battery serves as the CMOS/RTC battery which maintains the BIOS and system clock settings.

 

If you look at the parts list in chapter 3 of the service manual, you will not find a CMOS/RTC battery part number.

 

If you look at chapter 5 of the service manual, you will not find any procedure to remove and replace a CMOS/RTC battery.

 

I would not be able to help you figure out why the notebook shuts down when you unplug the power adapter.
