HP Pavilion x360 - 13-u163nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi HP Community,

Currently 8GB DDR4 RAM 2133MHZ is installed in my HP Pavilion x360 laptop & i wanted to upgrade / add another 8GB DDR4 RAM. So it will be total 16GB.

My Question is can i install 8GB DDR4 RAM 2400MHZ to my HP Pavilion x360 ? is the compatible ? will it match for 2133MHZ or i should install only 2133MHZ RAM to meet the compatibility.

And also, I know one more RAM slot is blank in my laptop to add, I wanted to know till how much does it support 16GB ?

My laptop product is HP Pavilion x360 - 13-u163nr

Please Suggest !!

Thanks in Advance.

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

Memory is spelled out on p. 58-59. There are two slots. The specified memory is DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM and it would do you no good to install DDR4-2400 since it would just run at 2133 speed. This model is extremely challenging to service. The memory slots are on the reverse of the motherboard so you have to remove the motherboard to get at them. Max memory would actually be 32 gigs (2 x 16) which is well known among technicians but not spelled out in the Manual. Adding a second 8 gig module to have 16 is also supported.

Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Ok, Thanks for sharing the manual Huffer 🙂 Will do check and install the RAM accordingly.
