ProBook 430 G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an 8 GB memory module by Kingston model (KCP424SS8/8), Can i add it to an HP ProBook 430 G2 that currently have 4 GB in one of the 2 available slots? Is it compatible? i've seen that the one that comes with the notebook is DDR3 and this one is DDR4. Is there any issue?

Thanks.

Hi,

No, it is not possible nor compatible.

Your notebook supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600MHz RAM (2x8GB) so that is what you will need to use. You could insert a 8GBof DDR3L 1600MHz module in the empty slot. You can purchase from your preferred brand.

Example:

For extra performance you could also insert an M2 SATA3 SSD (form factor 2242) and install the OS on it.

Hope it helps,

@sapita

I would not mix DDR3 and DDR4 RAM  won't fit DDR3 slot actually.
