My laptop is Hp pavilion sleek book 15 b002ee with intel core i5 1st generation processor. It has 4gb of RAM and 500gb HDD. The hard disk takes too much time to boot up and although takes further time to do small things too. Can i upgrade from hdd to sdd? Or i could upgrade ram so that the processing speed would be increased? Does it really helps the laptop to process faster by using sdd?

Hi:
Yes, replacing the SATA mechanical hard drive with a 2.5'"SATA SSD will help performance considerably.
I recommend you replace the drive with a Western Digital Blue SA510 2.5" 500 GB SSD:
Or this Sandisk Ultra model:
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure:

Yes, if you like your notebook and have $45 or so USD to buy a 2.5" SATA SSD with, it is worth it.
I changed all of the hard drives out in my notebooks that had mechanical hard drives.
Even ones older than yours that only had SATA II drive controllers, the SSD's made a very good improvement.
You may also want to install another 4 GB memory chip and bump up the memory to 8 GB.
