Hello @PGP9T .
Your computer does not have a slot for a PCIE NVME solid state drive, but you may be able to fit an M.2 SATA-3 solid state if it contains adequate space.

The best option would be for you to replace the hard drive with a 2.5" SATA 3 SSD.

Hi, @PGP9T
Unless your notebook came with a SATA M.2 SSD from HP, there is no M.2 slot in any notebook in the 15-ay### model series.
The M.2 slots are add-on parts (as shown in chapter 3 of the service manual), and only are included in the notebooks that shipped from the factory with M.2 SATA SSD's.
You will find many posts including pictures on this forum, where folks have opened up the 15-ay notebooks only to find no M.2 slot.
