Can i upgrade my laptop HP W6T34PA (15-ay020tu) to SSD ?
What things are to be considered before buying or configuring SSD in this particular device . The device has 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA Hard drive. Can i upgrade it to SATA SSD of 2.5 inch size? Also my device has 4GB RAM . I have been observing in task manager that disk usage is always on 100% . Will upgrading my laptop to SSD and also increasing RAM to 8 GB help fix this issue ? I have tried different things lke disabling superfetch services etc. I usually use this laptop for programming and google . So I have multiple IDEs running and also number of tabs open on google chrome. Welcoming any suggestion that would help increase my laptop's performance
Refer other specs of my device from below link:

Hello, in effect with an SSD you need to not have this problem to 100% disk usage. And all PC's since this 10 years old can be use a SATA 2.5 inch SSD. So I recommend to you make this upgrade.
If you want to have more informations you can try to make this online scanner:
https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner
For the RAM, you can check in your task manager if your memory is lot of used sometimes (more 80%) if you want to know if you need to upgrade it. But your laptop will be more powerful with an SSD an 8 Gb of RAM (S0-DIMM DDR3L-1600).
If you want more help for upgrade you can check your maintenance guide, and ask us to more questions:

Thank you for your solution accepted and kudo. No, this operation will not affect your licence, because since Windows 8 license are recording in the BIOS, so in the motherboard.
For transfer your system in your SSD, you have 2 possibilities.
1) Reinstall all with the Recovery Media (need to be create with Recovery Manager, preinstalled on your PC)
2) clone your actual system, but need to connect your SSD in an external case during the clone, same this:
And a clone software, same this, in free trial:

EDIT I have lost an information: for use the Recovery Kit, you need to have an SSD capacity same your original disk, or bigger.
If it is not your situation, you can download Windows 10 from the Microsoft site and install drives later. But if you want to reinstall all you need to backup your datas before:
Download Windows 10 - microsoft.com
