Hi:

 

Yes, you can add an 8 GB memory module to the existing 4 GB memory module and have 12 GB.

 

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.

 

Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | pavilion 15 series | Pavilion 15-au624tx | Crucial IN

 

The DDR4-2400 memory would be fine.
