@NAG4253,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Yes, once you switch from a SATA HDD to a SATA SSD, Windows should automatically upgrade/update any relevant storage driver.

However, you may want to follow these steps just to be sure:

First, I would use the Microsoft Windows Update feature:

Reference: Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly - Microsoft Support.

Second, I would use HP's Software and Driver Download tool: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15q-ds0000-laptop-pc/20395838/model/23565570.

Thirdly, download and run the Intel Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) utility program: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html.  Once this program has done its job, you can then uninstall it.

If you follow these steps, you should be good to go.

Btw, your HP Notebook - 15q-Ds0017tu (4ZD80PA), according to your laptop's manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06691790.pdf, can be fitted with both a SATA SSD as well as an M.2 NVMe SSD:

Hope this was helpful.
