Hello all,
Due to the requirement of work, I need to upgrade my laptop memory from 32GB to 128GB RAM. I have found 2 specification version for the Zbook 15 G5. The first one note that we only upgrade maximum of 64GB RAM, but the other one is say that 128GB RAM is maximum for upgrade (Link 1: HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation Specifications | HP® Customer Support; Link 2: HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation)
I also look at google for the same cases, and I can find some where sale the RAM kit to upgrade maximum 128GB RAM (link at below)
Link 4: HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation Memory Upgrades @Memory.NET
In case, the upgrade is possible, can i use this RAM type in the link (Ram Laptop Crucial DDR4 32GB 2666MHz 1.2v CT32G4SFD8266 | Memoryzone - Professional in memory) to upgrade?
Thank you and I'm really appreciate your the reply!

Hi:
You can do this to find out exactly how much memory your notebook can take...
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator. This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacity and hit enter. There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your notebook's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Thank Paul_Tikkanen,
Base on the covid-19, I haven't take the laptop on hand already, beside that, the seller not sure about the maximum capacity of memory. So I'm considering to make decision. That the reason, I have release a post on forum to get the advice from all of you.
And about your command, I'm tried already, but it not clearly. Specific, I ran the command on the Lenovo T490 (maximum 32GB RAM), the result is 33554432 or 32GB, mean it meet with the specification.
But, when I test on the Elitebook 8560p (maximum 16GB by the manufacture), it return 8388608 or 8GB, have a big gap with the specification.
However, I will run the command on the Zbook 15 G5, and have the feedback for your about the result as soon as I can approach this laptop. Thanks again.
By the way, any one have the experience in this case, please for me an advice.
Thanks!

You're very welcome.
According to the Intel processor specs for the i7-8850H, the maximum memory it can support is 64 GB.
Processador Intel® Core™ i7-8850H (cache de 9 M, até 4,30 GHz) Product Specifications
I could only find the specs in Portuguese for some reason.
I am very surprised the memory test on the 8560p only reported 8 GB as the max because as you stated, it supports 2 x 8 GB with no problem.

Hi,
That is truth, you can take a look:
As the first thread in my post, do you have any comment for the information in the specification below
HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation
and do you think that still have RAM kits from some OEM, that it is over the maximum of the RAM by the manufacture, and of course , it work as well, like the advertising in a website at below (they say that it will be warrantied 10 years)
Thanks for your support!

You're very welcome.
If you look at this document, it does indeed indicate that you can install 4 x 32 GB of NON-ECC memory in the 4 memory slots, and 4 x 16 GB of ECC memory in the 4 memory slots.
See page 12.
HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation
So, I would say you would be fine with 4 x 32 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz non-ECC memory.

That's a ton of money!

Thank Paul_Tikkanen,
That's really a big money, and I also don't want to lose the money for any mistake. So I think that it's better if I have a checking with the seller on the real computer, maybe I need to get the support from them to prepare 4x32GB RAM non-ECC.
Thanks again for your effort.
