Are you consciuous that the battery is not external  L11119-855 . So to remove it you need to open the whole laptop?

The only down side is direct AC power, when loosing power suddenly during machine is doing some tasks, HDD could crash physically up to the point unrecoverable.

I actually have 2 machines w/o batteries but I'm using UPS.

@jose_7653765978,

@banhien you are absolutely correct: thank you for bringing this up!

Even with a (laptop) battery, I still hook up all my PCs to UPS's, because besides giving you the time to orderly shut down your computer, a UPS also functions as a surge protector.

[EDIT:] For a small load like your laptop, a basic UPS such as this example for less than $54 will do nicely: Amazon.com: Amazon Basics Standby UPS 400VA 255W Surge Protector Battery Power Backup, 6 Outlets - B....

@jose_7653765978,

I edited the UPS link in my previous posting.  I worked on another inquiry and inadvertently copied the wrong link.

Kindly,

Ok,

In casse someone finds it usefull.

Yes you can remove battery and it will workd only from power source. Please remove it ASAP, mine was bumpy already. Laptop ony has 3 years of use.

Yes, it trhows a CMOS error, as shown here https://h30467.www3.hp.com/t5/Hardware-para-notebooks/Pila-CMOS/td-p/1002364

No, you don't need a UPS which costs you more that a genuine battery. Most PC work with PSA from years ago without problems. Even with electricity cuts.
