In theory It should be upgradeable to 16GB (2x8GB, which I would do if it worked) but HP online forums seem to indicate that it won't support 16GB. I'm wondering if that is the case, or no one has tried to run 2 x 8GB sims in it. Perhaps HP may have 'restricted' it to make it more reliable or so it doesn't compete with it's i7 version, in the market place. Only speculation on my part.

At present it has 2 memory slots, one of which has a 4GB memory sim.

Any help you could give would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

It supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600MHz RAM (2x8GB)

You can purchase from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung... Make sure you purchase DDR3L and not DDR3

You should also replace the hard drive for a SSD which would give a great boost to the system.

Hope it helps,

David

Hi Cairnsy,

Can you provide the exact model or product number (not serial) of your notebook for further help. There are many different series of the Pavilion x360 and even more models.

Here is how to find it:

Model number

Let me know,

David

Thanks David, your information is very helpful.

I will try and source the sims you have mentioned.

I have already put in a 1TB Samsung Evo SSD which made a big difference.

I doubt a 16GB memory upgrade will provide as big a performance increase. It would be great if it did.

I would appreciate your comments on the likely benefits of 16GB against the 8GB I have already.

Thanks again, I Iook forward to your comments.

Geoff

You're welcome Geoff,

Yes, the SSDs make an amazing difference in the everyday performance. It is difficult for me to use a PC without one after being used to the SSD.

The RAM will not make a great difference unless you are using Software which needs a lot of RAM. It probably will make a little difference if, like me, you have lots of apps, Browsers... open at the same time.

Let me know if you need any further help.

All the best,

David
