Hi,

I am looking to upgrade my storage capacity on my notebook, but I cannot find the motherboard specifications. I have had conflicting advice already, one saying I have a single M.2 slot, and another saying I have 2.
I haven't opened my notebook up yet, though it is out of warranty. The pre-installed 512GB NVME is  pretty much full, and over the coming year, I expect to need double or quadruple the storage as I am working with some very large files and projects.
Ideally I would like to increase the storage to at least 2TB, possibly up to 4TB (thinking of the WD_Black SN850X), but I don't know what gen M.2 I can use and whether there is a limit as to what this system will accept. If the RAM is upgradable, I would also like to do that, but storage is my primary concern at the moment.

Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Matt.

That's right, the memory is integrated and cannot be upgraded.. It has a single slot for disks and supports Gen 3. You can install Gen 4, but the speed will be reduced to approximately that of Gen 3.

The service manual specifies 2 TB for NVME, but there is no limit; the disks can be of any size. The service manual indicates how HP markets these laptops.

Hi @Artemis2769

In general, the Spectre line does not have two M.2 slots. You must specify the complete model for more information.

Then, if you have a single slot and an NVME drive, you can replace it with any size, from 2 TB, 4 TB, or more.

Hi @Resistencia
Thank you for your reply.
My full model is: HP Spectre x360 Convertible: 15-eb0003na
Product ID: 3B131EA#ABU
After reading some other threads, I see that the RAM is integrated and so not expandable. As I understand it, the system supports PCIe 4.0, is that correct? Again, I have seen conflicting information regarding this, with some sources suggesting only PCIe 3.0 support.

Thank you again Resistencia.

how many M.2 slots it has, what gen it supports, and if 2TB or 4TB will work.
