Hello, I've been having an issue with the typing options. So i can normaly type anywhere from the password to internet search bars, the only problem is when i try to type on the windows search bar (next to Cortana) where it sais "Type here to search" and also when i try to change the wifi options, it won't seem to type anything. I can't find any solution to this, please help. Thank you.

Hi @Pam-Holmes,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are having issues typing on the windows search bar.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Meanwhile, I recommend you install all the Windows updates and check if it helps.
Here is how it is done.

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
